IMG_1601In the 1990’s, Newark Christian Fellowship (NCF), now the Barn Vineyard Church (“the Barn”) in Landenberg, PA adopted the Digo People of Coastal Kenya as a people group for focused international outreach efforts. In the summer of 2003, six members of NCF traveled to Kwale, Kenya to visit a literacy program supported by the church to help establish Chidigo as a written language. Since that time, Bible Translators Literacy has created a Chidigo New Testament and a series of health and literacy pamphlets for use in teaching reading and writing.  IMG_1578Since 2005, The Barn has partnered with Kenyan missionaries, Terry & Paul Mugambi in community development projects in the region of Kwale and Vuga.  In conjunction with the Barn, board members of Waterbrook Hills have made over 10 trips to the Kwale district to initiate and support various community development and humanitarian projects.  Their ongoing development and support is a high priority for Waterbrook Hills.  We are currently supporting projects in Early Childhood Education, a Women’s Micro-Finance Program, the Pamoja Tailor Shop, and a Child Feeding Program.
